This is a great indi that I use in my trading.
I would be nice if the numbered circles could be moved a little farther off the end of the candles.
I have bad sight and make them bigger so they end up covering the end of the candle.

You can do so already. Click the left mouse button, Select Save Target As, Save. lua file in the folder of your choice. Open File using Notepad or any other editor.

PS: the indicator you made is very handy which help me have a excellent trading, I hope you could creat more and more useful indicators
and I remember there is a indicator named breakout indicator which as yet can only be used within H1, could you make a bigger frame indicator of the “breackout”?

I agree, a setting to set the distance from the Candle according to preference would be fantastic!
As also Sound Alerts for all Levels by Option… i.e. Sound Alert for Level 1 and or 2 and or 3 would also be GREAT!

Hi, i’ve discovered Marketscope last week and it’s so great.
I like very much this nice indicator and i use it a lot on other platform. I would like to ask if is possible to add the support to show Sup and Res Lines like in the image attached. This modify will help a lot with Breakout Strategy.

Hi, S/R lines are lines that are simply drawn from past semaphore point You can have an option in order to choose how many lines to show, from 1 to 5 i think will be sufficient. In the attached image you can see the indicator that show 3 lines. Would be nice, if is possible, to have a label with the price level of each lines

being new to this indicator, I’m trying to understand the shorter “target and replacement” lines and the longer “target and replacement lines”.
Can someone help me understand how to use these lines when interpolating a chart using this indicator?

Hello Niko lay,
Are you or someone else working on a strategy for this indicator?
As we all know it repaints making it difficult to ascertain the best position to “mark” a buy or sell.
Just a suggestion if the Zig and Zag indicator gets the error fixed the code in that indicator works well at identifying entry exit points and might work in a strategy using semafor.
Please look into this and let us know if a strategy is possible.
Could you please set the indicator up so we can adjust the color of the semafor signal according to it’s appearance above or below the magic trend indicator. In other words a 1, 2 or 3 level semafor signal could have 1 color below magic trend and another color when it occurs above the magic trend.

This is excellent work however this constantly repaints. Is there anyway you can create a system of trading off off the 2’s and 3’s only but uses the RSI or Stochastics +/- 50% in order to prevent picking tops and bottoms only having it to repaint?

Is there anyway that you can use this indicator and add the Elliot Wave counts? The Marketscope Wave counter line is not really great unless I am using it incorrectly.
I saw a pic from a trader using FXCM MT4 with a visual diagram of the wave counts.

hi to all, can you create a strategy based on this indicator: buy: 1.price>zig zag low and price < lower retracement line 2.lower trend line sloping upwards(trend line ending point>trend line starting point)
sell: 1.price< zig zag high and price >upper retracement line 2.upper trendline sloping dowards(trend line ending point<trendline starting point)
exit buy:
1.price cross over upper retracement line /upper target line(optional) or 2.price cross under lower target line
exit sell: 1.price cross under lower retracement line/lower target line(optional) or 2.price cross over upper target line

For traders looking for a strategy or alert that signals when all three zigzag agree, it already exists. Go to “strategies”, in the search box enter “zigzag strategy”. Follow to the ZigZag Strategy by vstrelnikov. It’s made for this indicator and works perfectly. Just remember the indicator repaints.

I’ve just did a backtest of the zigzag strategy you mentioned and it doesn’t match this indicator? Could the strategy be modified to match this indicator?
See below, the buy and sells isn’t always happening at the 3rd zigzag.

Stance, I am a trader like yourself, not an expert programmer as the folks here at Codebase. Back testing a strategy based on an indicator that repaints will not give you real world results. Neither will looking at history as it is a perfect history. It does not reflect how many times the indicator showed up then disappeared. I have used the ZigZag Strategy as an alert with allow strategy to trade set to no. It is simply a heads up to look at the situation and consider many other factors before placing a trade. Using this strategy or any other based on a repainting indicator to actually make trades is, in my opinion, a very bad idea. If you use the strategy as an alert, you will see that indeed it matches the indicator. An indicator that comes and goes comes and goes (a lot).

As described, indicator used both high and low candle data. Maybe with a lot of creative coding. Well, then it would not be the same indicator.

Great indicator you have here. Is it possible to add in the option for pips counter and highest/lowest price of the zigzag for this? Also the ability to choose which one to show the pips and high/low for (only the 3 or 1+2+3).

Good Morning, After reading through all the post on the Semafor indicator, there seems to be a few requests for alerts when the zigzag paints. I’m looking for an audible and possible email alert for when the 3rd zigzag happens. Is it possible to add the option of alerting when the 3rd zigzag paints AND crosses over a moving average? If this is not possible, just the option of turning on or off each individual zigzag alert would be great! Thank you in advance!
