Nikolay, well done thus far. once you get to the rest of the upgrades, i think we ought to think about creating a separate version this indicator for the RSI candle indicator. or http://fxcodebase.com/code/search.php?fid[]=17

if it is possible, then we can compare the polygons created for the rsi candle and the polygon created by the price candle on a session by session basis.

i appreciate your excellent work

Can the below be done with the session hours. To give it a signal to sell or buy at each session. Sample. When the Sydney session opens and it closes lower then the opening, a signal will be trigger to SELL currency at closing of that session. Next would be the Toyko session, if toyko opening is lower then the closing toyko session, a signal would be BUY at closing of toyko session….and etc

The Trading Session LUA adds the transparent color for the current session as the bars are drawn. In my opinion it would provide more insight if the transparent shading were to be drawn for the full session time period at the beginning of the session. In this way one could see at a glance how much time was remaining before the session was scheduled to close. Is it possible?

This indicator looks great and is very close to what I am looking for, which is an indicator that works exactly as this one does - but with adjustable, custom session times.

Is there any way to update this indicator to include this very useful feature? Thanks!

Great indicator !

Can it be modified so the last active rectangles (the current active sessions, that is) are extended in the future to the point where these active sessions will end ?

Best regards, Mihai

Re: Trading Session Hours for Aug 27, 10 Trading Station Release

nazaar · Sat Dec 03, 2011 10:37 am

Hello,

Since I learned about this indicator I have been using it. I like how the user has many options of how to use, what to display, from the indicator. The best tools are the ones with more flexibility as we all have different setting preferences.

For me, I am interested in the period (especially on higher time lines) and session highs and lows. With trading session hours I only display the session high and low–excellent tool!. However, it only work on 1 hour charts or less and it takes a while to load (which is ok).

If I may request 1 additional field to the indicator–time divider. I would like to have a horizontal line placed at a user specified hour. The horizontal line would then generate for the past and into the future at the hour chosen. Ideally, a time divider indicator may be more useful on its own.

At present I do this manually and it is very time consuming when having to do it for each pair and each time line. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=8605&p=19065#p19065

thank you.

Yeah I second that idea.

As London just seems to creep in un-noticed with a bang, so would be good to be forwarned of end of one session and start of another.

Hello,

the tradesession tool is very informative and useful as it allows the user to choose many different display options while gives a good indication for market sentiment and directional bias flows.

At present horizontal lines are drawn at the session highs and lows for the given trading session.

I would like to request a 3rd horizontalline be drawn from the period opening price.

Thanks in advance!

Dear friends the indicator looks still better and better, thanks. I would highly appreciate to have an option to set another session beginning and end hours. It looks to me as very important as far as a lot of events at market is derived from the hours when the stock markets are open for public. E.g. this setup is very important (it is used by TPO chart traders a lot): London: 3:00 - 9:30 EDT NY: 9:30 - 16:30 or 17:00 EDT Asia: 17:00 - 3:00 next day EDT I was trying to edit the launch parameters in new_york = CreateSession(9.5, 7.5,…) It works well until the first bar of the session is the high (may be the same for low) of the session. In that case the indicator marks the session high improperly (see the snapshot). Would it be possible to justify the indicator to handle the hours fractions? It would be quite enough for most of people, because editing the CreateSession input parameters manually is simple. The session times selection from the menu would be superior of course Many thanks Ivo

Could there be an adjustable time period? I think I’m running into a bug on the m5 and m1 charts with this, where entire periods of time are gone and I have to reload the chart. I’d rather load up five-to-twenty or be able to input certain times like the adjustable five days and then five days before that there are no sessions marked, but the three before those five are marked.

I am quite happy I found this indicator. Marking out the sessions by hand is too tedious.

excellent indicator & coding.

small problem that my European session starts at 7am and ends at 9pm.

in code

london = CreateSession(3, 9, instance.parameters.LO_C, “Lon”, name, instance.parameters.LO_L);

start=3 and length=9

start=3 to 2 works ok

but anything above length=12 has no effect (think I need length = 14).

probably a good reason for this.

will try and figure but any ideas welcome.

also anyone parameterized session start & length?

Hi Futurenets,

In indicator TRADESESSIONS.lua the duration of the session can not be more 12 hours. Our team has been tested it. If the length is greater than 12, nothing will happen.

but anything above length=12 has no effect (think I need length = 14).

It would be better if we had chance to analyse at the code of the indicator and look name of using TS. If it is possible, please send it to me at ycherepanova(@)gehtsoft.com

TRADESESSIONS.lua current version

sllouw · Sat Mar 12, 2016 2:24 am

Hi There Brilliant indicator. I first downloaded the executable from fxcmapps. I later downloaded the lua source…..but from where? I cannot remember for the life of me. I did a search for this filename (TRADESESSIONS.lua) and found many references on fxcodebase.com. This I think post was the most recent.

My question is, where might I find the most current version of this indicator? Is there a location somewhere that I have not found for source code? I see there are a whole lot of sampe indicators and strategies in this folder location once you install the SDK: C:\Gehtsoft\IndicoreSDK3\indicators\standard C:\Gehtsoft\IndicoreSDK3\strategies\standard The TRADESESSIONS.lua indicator is not there either.

Where else might I look? thanks in advance for any replies..

Can we please request an ammendment to the indicator Trade Sessions.

I would like to have the indicator Trade Session to have the ability to draw Auto Fib on user selected Trade Session: Sydney, Tokyo, London and/or New York.

For example: Auto Fib would plot on the High to Low points on the Asian session. In the image I provide, this would have been plotted from High to Low as the session closed lower than it opened. Then the indicator would have plotted an Auto Fib on the New York session from Low to High as that session closed higher than it opened.

If Auto Fib plotting on more than one session per day is asking too much, then Auto Fib on Asian Session would certainly suffice.

Thanks!

Hi Apprentice,

thanks alot for this one, must have for me.

I have a few suggestions that i hope should not be to time consuming to implement?

 1. Optional median line for each session.
 2. Option to extend each sessions lines to the end of day (high, low & median)

In the image i run two instances of the indicator. One for asian with median line on, and the other for london/ny with median line off. Also i have manually extended the asian session lines.

Hope this is possible, and a happy easter!

Hi Apprentice, Can you either add to this indicator or make new one What I would like you to do is code the price range in an adjustable timeframe for example if want the price range from 6am to 9am (gmt) to show the high & low within that time period also to extend the lines to an adjustable period into the New York session if you can x3 price ranges for the indicator to have same functions as original indicator but able to define the price range and to extend the line
