The Ultimate Strength Index (USI), introduced by John F. Ehlers in the November 2024 issue of Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities, is an enhanced version of the traditional Relative Strength Index (RSI). By incorporating Ehlers’ UltimateSmoother low-pass filter, the USI significantly reduces lag, providing traders with a more responsive and timely indicator.
